My work is about emergence, textures and narratives that are sometimes painful, but reflective. The work speaks about how beauty can hide from impending pain and then peeks out to see if it’s okay to surface, to show its fragility, its face. The work talks about how metal and I communicate. I don’t push metal, it pushes me in some very beautiful ways. There are conversations from the metal about secrets, sacredness, protection, intimacy (in-too-me-see), hiding, emergence, ancestral thoughts that come from the deep part of my soul and spirit. I create from the place of the unknown, I listen to metal and how it is responding and how it wants to show up in the world. Creating from a place of the unknown allows for emergence, giving time for metal to speak its own language.
